Though we may belong to different parts of the globe, what brings us together is food. The culture I belong to, says ‘vasudhaiva kutumbkam'(The whole world is one family). We may have different tastes and different ways and patterns of cooking as per our culture and the region we are born in, but what is common in all of us is the food and nutrition we need for our body, for a healthy body. Like we need love for our soul and mind, love is the fuel for the soul so the food is for our body, And when we cook food with Love it becomes healing for all; body, mind, and soul.
In India, it’s said ” work is worship” whether you are cooking, feeding the needy, or doing any other job, It is said to do with devotion, We take it as worship. Whatever we do, we dedicate it to God first. As a prayer of gratitude towards the existence of the way we have received food to feed our body and soul, and our family may no one on this earth remain hungry. As we are blessed ” May God bless everyone on Earth with Healthy, delicious, nourishing food ” This is our prayer for the world as we begin with our blog. India is a country of devotion, so the food we receive with love we consider a “prashada” ( a blessing of God). This is one of the reasons why in India, one term is very popular, which is “Maa ke haath ka khana” (Food made by mother) which almost everyone in India is fond of. And as a child, we wonder How even a simple recipe made by our mother tastes so delicious. It is because when a mother cooks food she puts all her love into cooking with the intention “may this food nourishes and satisfies the body and the soul of her children and whole family or whoever receives it”. So we are also trying to share the same love with the world through our Love, interest, and knowledge of food and cooking.
So we welcome you to our Blog, where we embark on a culinary adventure through the diverse and vibrant flavors of India, and also from all different parts of the world. No matter which part of the globe you reside in we pay our gratitude to you and bow to the God within you, for visiting our site. And we wish good for everyone on Earth. May we all not only become just a human but a better human who is the embodiment of God itself and his qualities. May Love, compassion and kindness become our nature no matter what our primary profession is, may we share our love through our work in the world.
INDIAN FOOD( BHARTIYA FOOD)
As I belong to a country like India where the slogan is “Unity in diversity”, So let’s talk about the food or say ‘taste of India‘. Here we celebrate the rich cultural heritage and gastronomic traditions that make Indian cuisine so unique and beloved around the world. Join us as we explore a myriad of delicious and healthy nutritious dishes that showcase the culinary brilliance of different regions in India.
DISCOVERING THE REGIONAL DELICACIES
India is a land of immense diversity, and this diversity is beautifully reflected in its cuisine. Each region boasts its distinct flavors, ingredients, and cooking techniques, resulting in a rich tapestry of culinary delights. From the fiery curries of the North to the aromatic spices of the South, every corner of India has something special to offer.
You’ll find hearty and robust dishes like butter paneer, kadhi pakoda, biryani, and parathas in the North. These dishes are often characterized by their use of aromatic spices such as cumin, coriander, and cardamom, which lend a unique flavor profile to the food.
Heading towards the South, you’ll encounter a new world of flavors. South Indian cuisine is known for its extensive use of coconut, curry leaves, and tamarind, resulting in dishes that are tangy, spicy, and full of depth. From the crispy dosas and fluffy idlis to the flavorful sambar and coconut-based curries, every bite is a burst of flavor.
The cuisine takes on a slightly different character as we move towards the East. Bengal, known for its love of fish, offers a plethora of seafood delicacies like macher jhol (fish curry) and shorshe ilish (hilsa fish in mustard sauce). The use of mustard oil and panch phoron (a blend of five spices) adds a distinct flavor to the dishes of this region. However, if we talk about Bengal, It is not just about fish and only different varieties of fish. There are many recipes for delicious food in Bengali culture that are very healthy and nutritious. I am from a Bengali Bhartiya family, and I don’t eat non-veg. I really love Bengali veg food like tak-bhaat, kochu patar bharta, aalur parbal r dum, begun bhaja and there are many more, the list is endless.
Finally, in the West, we encounter the robust and spicy flavors of Gujarat and Rajasthan. From the lip-smacking dhoklas and the indulgent Gujarati thali to the fiery Rajasthani curries and the delectable dal baati churma, the cuisine of these regions is a delightful blend of sweet, savory, and spicy.
HEALTHY TWIST ON TRADITIONAL FAVORITES
While Indian cuisine is known for its indulgent flavors and rich ingredients, it is also possible to enjoy these dishes more healthily. By making a few simple substitutions and tweaks, you can create nutritious versions of your favorite Indian dishes without compromising on taste.
For example, instead of deep-frying samosas, try baking them for a healthier alternative. Swap out heavy cream in curries with Greek yogurt or coconut milk to reduce the calorie content without sacrificing the creamy texture. Use whole wheat flour instead of refined flour for rotis and parathas to increase the fiber content.
Additionally, Indian cuisine offers a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options that are not only healthy but also incredibly flavorful. From protein-packed lentil dishes like dal and chana masala to vibrant vegetable curries like baingan bharta and aloo gobi, there is no shortage of delicious plant-based options
